Mission
To teach running skills, elements of training and positive physical activity habits in an environment that supports self-confidence and a healthy body image. The Run Club Is a fun, positive, vibrant, creative and safe environment that supports opportunities for runners to grow and develop personally and physically. Coach Lucy is passionate about helping girls find a sense of joy and purpose in their running goals that transfers to lifelong fitness habits and goal setting. Running is a skill that can be learned, and running well is a practice that promotes a strong, injury free body and emotional well-being. The club focusses on fun in sport and the skill of running and running development.

19 Time Canadian Champion runner and triathlete Lucy Smith is a lifelong runner and Ambassador for the personal pursuit of excellence through sport. A teacher and coach, Lucy has spent hundreds of hours coaching kids and adults in Victoria and around the world, and is passionate about paying forward the positive life skills she has learned through her vast experience of training and racing. Now in year four, ‘Up and Running’ is her first formal run club aimed at enhancing the physical fitness and confidence of middle school girls.

Run Club meets Friday afternoons 4-5 PM @ trails and parks in Saanich and Victoria. This year, the group will be run according to Athletics Canada and municipal guidelines for safe participation during Covid - 19 pandemic.
Registration and payment information is available by contacting Lucy. Club fees run from September-May 2020 and are $60 + GST per month. Email Lucy Smith to express interest, be on the mailing list and sign up (hit the button below!) |
