My passion and expertise is in teaching people ‘how to train’. This starts with the plan, but includes helping build skills to train and participate in events effectively, either on your own, within your current group, or as part of your life priorities. I encourage people to be honest about their definition of success and I work with them to discover and refine habits that work for them. I am less concerned with programming, and more concerned with your relationship to training, your well-being and in helping you find a process that works for you and is sustainable in the long run. I believe that a strong body and a robust and thriving emotional state are connected.
I customize for every client, whether a single human, a group or an organization:
EXPLORE We sit down, or video conference, to refine your current training program, or help you manage your time, or assist you with skills to solve a mental barrier that you feel is holding you back. This can be an ongoing coaching support relationship, or just a ‘one off’ to get you on track.
ACTION I meet you at a venue to teach you running foundations, how to execute a training session properly and I coach you through a workout, even one from your own coach or program.
PLAY I have a 2 hour “Run for Joy” workshop aimed towards groups and clubs, where I cover form, posture, efficiency, self-talk, skills and drills for proper form, and weave mental/emotional skills into the sessions as practice. This Clinic can include up to 20 of your best running pals.
TRAIN For ongoing personal coaching, the coach/athlete relationship grows and evolves but I always start with the basics: looking at goals and priorities and what people really need help with initially. I then build a personalized training plan based on these needs. You receive training support, including mental, nutritional, lifestyle, skills and tactics, racing preparation and goal setting, all depending on your strengths and needs. This includes unlimited emails, and a set schedule of personal calls, meet ups or coached sessions.
